Children
We are working with the local Social Service authorities in Zimbabwe to identify and select the children whom we will care for in our first Shine African Children's Trust home.
We are aiming to take in about 12 children, up to 5 years old. All of them will be from the local area and will be have been orphaned, with no family to support them. It’s likely that many of them will be HIV AIDS orphans. We should be ready to take in the first children in January 2009. Funds permitting, work will begin later that year on acquiring premises for a second Shine African Children's Trust children's home in Zimbabwe.
Once the children are in our care, we will use this site to:
- Tell you all about them
- Upload photos of them in their new home
- Upload messages and drawings by the children
- Encourage the staff to post messages about the children
